Auxvasse Girl Scout Troop 71446 is hosting an end of summer bash Sept. 9.

Rachael Barnhart, one of the troop's leaders, said this is the troop's first big fundraising event.

Proceeds from the event will help fund the Girl Scout troop's trip to South Dakota next summer.

Barnhart said troop leaders plan each trip with "a learning purpose" to make it educational. Planned activities for the trip include visiting Mount Rushmore, a gold mining town and horseback riding through the Black Hills.

The bash will include a cornhole tournament, a kid zone, silent auction and concessions.

There is a $40 entry fee for each cornhole team or a $20 individual entry fee. There is no registration deadline and individual players will be paired up.

The tournament will be double elimination style. Payout for the winning team will be 50 percent and will be dependent on the amount of players.

Wristbands to enter the kid zone will be $5 each. The kid zone will include a bounce house, three-legged race, cake walk, face painting and games.

Silent auction items include local restaurant gift cards, car detailing and family entertainment.

Concessions available for purchase include hot dogs, burgers, chips, candy and drinks.

Barnhart said troop leaders are reaching out to local churches in hopes of collaborating on a bake sale at the event.

The fundraiser will be 2-6 p.m. at A. H. Domann Memorial Park in Auxvasse.

Registration for cornhole can be completed by emailing [email protected].
