Health department to host Family Fun Day

The Callaway County Health Department is getting ready to host the 2023 Family Fun Day, offering fun activities and supplies for local families to close out the summer.

Family Fun Day will be Saturday, Aug. 19 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Memorial Park in Fulton. Admission to the event is free.

Andrea Bedrosian, administrator for the Callaway County Health Department, said this is the first time the department has hosted the event.

She said they got inspired to host the event as a way to "bring the community together and let them celebrate one last time before they go back to school for the year."

Show Me Dinosaurs from Columbia will be at the event with two seven-foot tall dinosaurs and smaller dinosaurs for families to look at. There will also be a fossil dig for kids.

Callaway County EMS, Callaway County Fire Department and Fulton Police Department will bring their vehicles, Bedrosian said.

Other available activities include face painting, relay races and more.

Family Fun Day will free hot dogs available for lunch.

Hygiene supplies, which were donated from Unilever, will be given away for free at the event. First Chance for Children will also be at the event giving out free diapers and wipes.
