North Callaway softball drops game at Louisiana

For the second day in a row, North Callaway softball was run-ruled by its opponent.

The Ladybirds lost 14-4 against the Lady Bulldogs Tuesday in Louisiana, Missouri.

While it may have lost, North Callaway did have some good performances at the plate.

Leading the way for the Ladybirds was their leadoff hitter Corynne Miller, who went 3-for-3 with one RBI, one run scored and walked once. Faith Cash also had a good game offensively, going 2-for-4 with a double and one run scored.

Outside of Cash, Kymorie Meyers registered North Callaway's only other extra-base hit, with a two-RBI triple.

In the circle, starting pitcher Lauren Speight was tagged with the loss. She pitched 3 ⅓ innings, allowing six runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk while striking out three.

Overall, North Callaway scored four runs on 10 hits and two errors while Louisiana scored 14 runs on 14 hits and eight errors.

The Ladybirds (6-11) will return to the diamond to play Silex (10-8) at 5 p.m. Thursday in Auxvasse.
