Another day, another game where Fulton softball did its job both in the circle and at the plate. The Hornets beat Kirksville 6-4 Tuesday in Kirksville.
Fulton starter Natalie Underwood pitched a complete-game shutout. The sophomore allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out seven.
At the plate, Jayna Hedgpath hit a solo shot which was the Hornets' only homer in the game. Meanwhile, Layla Underwood recorded a team-high three hits while Samantha Hedgpath led the team with two RBI.
The victory meant Fulton completed a season sweep of Kirksville. In the previous meeting, the Hornets won 10-1 against the Tigers on Sept. 8 in Fulton.
Next up, Fulton (21-4) will play Hannibal (0-19) at 5 p.m. Thursday in Fulton.
