Westminster volleyball splits tri matches vs. Spalding and Eureka

Westminster College volleyball played against two St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents in the Westminster Tri Match Saturday in Fulton.

The Blue Jays lost 3-2 against Spalding (25-21, 16-25, 25-27, 25-21, 13-15) and Eureka 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-23)

Against Spalding, the Blue Jays' statistical leaders were Kate Rable with 26 assists, Malen Bixby with 16 digs, Haley Menke with 14 kills and Meghan Nolte with one block.

In the three-set victory versus Eureka, Westminster's statistical leaders were Hope McGinnes with 12 assists, Regan Reed with 18 digs and Frannie Heckman with 11 kills. Three Blue Jays notched an ace apiece -- Reed, Brooklyn Shell and McGinnes.

Up next, Westminster (10-7, 3-1 SLIAC) will play conference opponent Fontbonne (4-2, 1-0) at 7 p.m. Wednesday in St. Louis.
