The Auxvasse Lions Club has a slate of events for October.
On October 1, they will hold their Lions Club Candy Day. This will take place at the stoplight on Main Street in Auxvasse from 7:30-11:30 a.m. The funds raised from this event will be used to by glasses and other eye-related items for kids.
Later in October, an all you can eat fish fry will be held at the Auxvasse Community Center. This will take place on October 14, with service beginning at 5 p.m. The food available will be fish, potatoes, hush puppies, baked beans, coleslaw, hot dogs and dessert. Funds raised from this will be used to help with the expenses of the Community Center and other local causes.
The fish fry will cost $15 for adults, $7 for kids 6 to 10 and kids under 6 are free.
Throughout the month, the Lions Club will be cleaning and painting fire hydrants in the local area. This is the club's current service project.
