South Callaway football falls in a tight game at Louisiana

In a contest that was decided in the final minutes of the fourth quarter, South Callaway football lost 32-28 against Louisiana Friday in Louisiana, Missouri.

After South Callaway took the lead in the fourth quarter, Louisiana returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown and regained its lead, putting the score at 32-28. Louisiana held the lead for the remainder of the game, but South Callaway didn't go down without a fight.

On the next drive, South Callaway got inside Louisiana's 20-yard line with not much time left, then fumbled the ball in the endzone. That was South Callaway's final offensive possession of the game.

Leading the way on defense for South Callaway was Kyle Dickinson with seven tackles. On offense, Jacob Martin answered the bell yet again, rushing for 138 yards and scoring two touchdowns.

As a team, South Callaway ran for an impressive 319 yards. Besides Martin (8-yard and 2-yard scores), Tayber Gray (1-yard score) and Owen Rees (4-yard score) ran for touchdowns.

Next up, South Callaway (2-3) faces a tough test, playing Bowling Green (5-0) at 7 p.m. Friday in Bowling Green.
