North Callaway football moves above .500 after defeating Mark Twain

North Callaway provided all the second-half scoring en route to a 34-22 victory against Mark Twain Friday in Central.

Down 22-20 at halftime, North Callaway scored two touchdowns in the third quarter that capped off the scoring and put the Thunderbirds on top.

On its second drive of the third quarter, North Callaway took the lead thanks to a 7-yard touchdown run by quarterback Braydn O'Neal.

Mark Twain had two scoreless drives and threw one interception, while North Callaway had one pointless drive with an interception before the final scoring drive of the game.

Following the latter of the Tigers' drives, the Thunderbirds were on the opponents' 34 after an interception. On the first play of the drive, Tucker Wright took it to the house for a touchdown and put North Callaway up 34-22 after the two-point conversion.

The Thunderbirds' three interceptions and O'Neal's performance were both important in taking down the Tigers.

North Callaway's O'Neal, Sergio Moreno and Kyle Pennell notched a pick apiece in the game.

Offensively, O'Neal ran for 129 yards on 32 attempts and scored one touchdown while completing 11-of-23 passes for 195 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
