William Woods women’s golf places third at WWU Fall Invitational

William Woods women's golf finished third at the WWU Fall Invitational, scoring a 117-over-par 693. The Owls shot a 58-over-par 346 on Day 1 and followed with a 346 on Day 2.

Columbia College won the invitational with a 621 (312-309), and Central Methodist placed second with a 641 (326-315).

Maria Ortiz Rozo finished in a three-way tie for sixth place with a 17-over-par 161 (82-79). She shaved three strokes off her round one score for a 9-over-par 79 with 14 pars, two bogeys, a double bogey and a triple bogey.

Alissa Olson and Jennah Schell closed out the invitational in a three-way tie for 16th place with a 174. Olson (88-86) shot a birdie, eight pars, five bogeys and four double bogeys. Schell shot eight pars, four bogeys and six double bogeys.

Allyson Hollrah finished in a three-way tie for 23rd with a 186 (95-91). She shot a birdie, five pars, nine bogeys and three double bogeys.

Hope Tuttle placed 26th with a 188 (93-95). She shot five pars, four bogeys and nine double bogeys.

Emma Fischer placed 30th with a 200 (96-104), Maddison Fenner tied for 32nd with a 205 (104-101) and Halle Luetkemeyer placed 35th with a 215 (113-102).

Next up, William Woods will take part in Day 1 of the CC Cougar Classic on Oct. 3 at Columbia Country Club in Columbia.
