WWU women’s golf in third after Round 1 of WWU Fall Invitational

William Woods women's golf sits in third after shooting a 58-over-par 346 in the WWU Fall Invitational Monday at Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton.

The Owls are 20 strokes behind second-place Central Methodist and 34 back of the leader, Columbia College.

Making it tough for the other teams was the Cougars' golfer Emily Strunk, who is in first and signed for a 1-over-par 71 in Round 1. Strunk has a seven-stroke lead over Sarah Krenowicz of Central Methodist, who's in second.

Woods' top finisher in Round 1 was Maria Ortiz Rozo, who is tied for seventh after carding a 82.

Behind Rozo, the Owls' Jennah Schell is tied for ninth after posting a 83, Alissa Olson tied 17th with a 88, Hope Tuttle 22nd with a 93, Allyson Hollrah tied for 25th with a 95, Emma Fisher tied for 27th with a 96, Maddison Fenner 33rd with a 104 and Halle Luetkemeyer 36th with a 113.

William Woods will tee off for Round 2 of the WWU Fall Invitational today at Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton.
