The Fulton School District is seeing an increase in attendance.
The attendance awareness program at Fulton Public Schools has been in progress this school year and the district attendance committee continues to support the attendance awareness campaign.
School committees meet weekly throughout the district to monitor attendance during the first 30 days of the school year, said Dr. Chris Hubbuch, assistant superintendent at Fulton Public Schools. The committee will meet to review progress on the campaign action plan.
The program aims to achieve consistency across the district.
Fulton School District has been working on an attendance awareness campaign with the goal to have 90 percent of students attending 90 percent of the time. The mission is to foster conditions where students are excited to attend, feel safe and positive at school.
During this time of the school year, Hubbuch said they have seen increased student attendance and even with some cases of COVID-19 in the community, Hubbuch said he has been very impressed on attendance so far.
Attendance has also been higher than it was last year, he said.
“This is the most important time to build that foundation, that readiness, awareness to come to school every day,” he said.
