A Holts Summit man was recently arrested after a vehicle pursuit with a Callaway County Sheriff's Office deputy.

The deputy attempted to stop Joshua Temmen, 30, on Sunday in an area north of New Bloomfield. Temmen was being stopped in reference to an ongoing felony stealing related investigation near Tebbetts and Wainwright.

He fled from the deputy who was attempting the stop. After a vehicle pursuit, Temmen's vehicle malfunctioned on a county road, and he was taken into custody.

On Monday, Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney Chris Wilson charged Temmen with tampering with a motor vehicle (first degree) and resisting arrest. Both are felony offenses. The charges by Wilson are the result of a criminal stealing investigation done by the sheriff's office.

Temmen was held without bond at the Callaway County Jail before being moved to the Missouri Department of Corrections. He was transferred there for state parole violations.

On the media release on the Callaway County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, the post references Temmen's criminal history. According to Case.net, his history includes: a four-year sentence in 2016 for four felony charges, a three-year sentence in 2019 for a felony stealing charge and a seven-year sentence in 2020 for two charges of felony burglary and two charges of stealing a motor vehicle.

Temmen was released on state parole April 5 by the Missouri Department of Corrections.
