New art exhibition begins at William Woods

A new art exhibition began recently at William Woods University.

The exhibition is called "I Measure Every Grief I Meet" and features artwork from Hannah Reeves. She is the director of Sager Braudis Gallery in Columbia and has a Master of Fine Arts in Fibers from the University of Missouri.

The featured artwork are drawings made out of cloth, thread and antique lace. These drawings include imagery that alludes to sentimental memories.

"Time is a central figure in these considerations of grief, and the use of thread and time-consuming stitching as drawing media is meant to emphasize its role," Reeves said in a press release.

The exhibition is located at the Mildred Cox Gallery in the Gladys Woods Kemper Center for the Arts at WWU. Admission is free. The gallery is open from noon-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 1-4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
