William Woods begins theatre season

William Woods University is set to begin its annual Mainstage Season Series this week.

WWU's drama department will begin its 2022-23 season with the historical play 45 Plays for 45 Presidents. This play is made up of 45 short plays that each have a focus on a different United States presidential administration.

Each individual short play presents and explores obscure and unique details of the administration.

Joe Potter, Artistic Director of the William Woods University Theatre Department, described the play as captivating, thought-provoking and very entertaining.

"Whether it's a comedy roast of Thomas Jefferson, a nuanced monologue about social upheaval during the Johnson administration or a mini-musical about George Bush Sr., you will never know what is coming next in this highly unique production," Potter said.

The play will begin Oct. 6, and continue until Oct. 8. Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. A matinee showing will also be available at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8. All performances will be at Dulany Auditorium on William Wood's campus.

Tickets cost $8 and can be purchased at www.showtix4u.com.

The Mainstage Season Series will continue later this year with three other shows planned. Silent Sky will be in December, These Shining Lives will be in February and The Sweet Delilah Swim Club will conclude the series in April.
