The current phase of the campaign has a goal of $150,000. The renovations to the balcony include additional seating, a food service area and a bar, restrooms and a movie projector.

With the addition of the ARPA funds, $75,000 has been raised so far.

The first phase of the program is now completed and had a goal of raising $800,000. This phase included renovations for the front lobby, the main auditorium and the building exterior. New HVAC and lighting has also been installed in renovations.

Board president Tom Riley said in a press release the matching grant doubled any individual donations for the balcony renovations.

"The volunteers at the Brick District Playhouse are extremely grateful that the committee recognized the importance of our project for the economic health of our community and the devastating effect COVID had on our revenue," Riley said.
