Callaway County University of Missouri alumni are currently collecting Tiger toys to donate for the holiday season.

The Callaway County Chapter of the Mizzou Alumni Association are hosting a toy drive that will continue until Dec. 14. Local community members can deliver toys to two different locations, Shively, Books and Associates, CPAs in Fulton (607 Court St.) and Lori Branch, State Farm Office in Holts Summit (170 West Simon Blvd., Summit Plaza).

The collected toys are donated to area children through Central Missouri Community Action in Fulton. The toys from this year's toy drive will be given to Callaway Head Start, same as the previous two years.

Tiger-related items are encouraged but other toys will also be accepted, according to a release. Stuffed animals, games and books were some examples given.

The Callaway County Chapter of the Mizzou Alumni Association began collecting Tiger toys for the holidays in 2001, and have continued annually.

Chapter president Michele Atkinson said in a release that 50 toys were donated in the toy drive last year.

"We hope the entire community will assist in this toy drive and brighten the holidays for some less-fortunate children," Atkinson said in a release.
