Suspect transported to Callaway County for 2019 murder

Emily Ricketts, 25, of Indianapolis, Indiana, was transported to the Callaway County Jail from San Diego, California, for being a suspect in a 2019 Callaway County murder.

The murder took place in June, 2019, where one victim died of multiple gunshot wounds. Arrest warrants were issued for Ricketts and another suspect, Ruben Cabrera, 36, also of Indianapolis.

Ricketts and Cabrera fled to Mexico, where Ricketts was taken into custody. She was transferred back into the United States, where she was held without bond at the San Diego County Jail. Cabrera is still wanted by the sheriff's office.

Ricketts was transported to Callaway County by three San Diego deputies, according to Sheriff Clay Chism.

She is charged with accessory to murder (1st degree). Ricketts is being held without bond.

Ricketts' first local court appearance took place at the Callaway County Courthouse.
