New Bloomfield boys basketball loses Show-Me Conference opener to Fatima

In the second game of the campaign, New Bloomfield boys basketball couldn't get its first win of the season.

The Wildcats lost 92-28 to Fatima in their first Show-Me Conference game this season.

Nathan Fuhriman led New Bloomfield in scoring with eight points, and the Wildcats' Hunter Rackers chipped in six points.

According to New Bloomfield coach Zach Buscher, Jake Fuhriman struggled with foul trouble and an injury so he never could get going.

"Turnovers killed us again," Buscher said. "We did not handle their pressure well, and we did not keep anyone out of the lane. Once we figure out those two issues, we can start competing with teams."

New Bloomfield (0-2) will return to action against Calvary Lutheran (0-0) at 7:30 p.m. tonight in New Bloomfield. Last season, the Wildcats lost 62-49 versus the Tigers at their court in Jefferson City.
