WWU women’s basketball’s Booker records double-double in loss to Culver-Stockton

William Woods women's basketball's Sydney Booker recorded a double-double in Saturday's loss to Culver-Stockon College in Fulton. The Owls fell 67-47, dropping them to 1-5 on the season.

How it happened

Booker scored the first points of the game, and a 3 from Katie Keiholz put the Owls up 5-0 two minutes in. C-SC cut the game to one with 2:33 on the clock, but Ruthie Brown scored on a free throw to put the Owls up 10-8. Neither team scored in the final 2:20 of the quarter.

The Owls were outdone 26-11 in the second quarter with an 18-2 C-SC run in the final four minutes. The Owls trailed 34-21. Booker scored eight of the team's 11 points in the quarter.

A 3 from Keilholz with three minutes to play in the third quarter brought the difference to 10, but C-SC did a 7-0 run to end the quarter, 48-31.

The Owls cut the game to 14 with a 3 from Madison Adolphsen and a jumper from Booker with 6:47 to play, but C-SC managed to push out a 24-point lead with under three minutes left to go, 67-43. The Owls finished the game with two good free throws from Brown and a layup from Jersee Wren to end it with a final score of 67-47.

By the numbers

Booker recorded a double-double with 14 points as she went 5-for-8 from the field and 4-for-4 from the foul line. ...Keilholz hit four 3-pointers for 12 points. ....Booker pulled down a floor-high 10 rebounds.
