Fulton business owner Brooke Bartlett, of GoPo Gourmet Popcorn, is honored to represent Callaway County women business owners.
Missouri Women's Business Center honored her during its fourth annual Women Who Own It Awards recently.
This was Bartlett's first award given to her as an individual.
"Very honored to represent Callaway County women business owners," Bartlett said. "It's always nice to be appreciated for the hard work you put into your business."
GoPo Gourmet Popcorn, located at 525 Court St., offers Missouri-grown popcorn and family recipes, and popcorn bar services for events.
Bartlett has been at the 525 Court St. location since 2019 and began her business in 2013.
Bartlett said she was always interested in hosting events and her husband liked making popcorn, so after putting those two things together, GoPo Gourmet Popcorn happened. Bartlett has been making popcorn ever since.
Before moving to Fulton, Bartlett lived in Columbia. Bartlett moved in Fulton in 2017.
Dark chocolate, sea salt, and cookies and cream are the types of popcorn most people come into the store to get on a daily basis, Bartlett said.
To get nominated for the award, someone in your county has to nominate you.
Bartlett's business has previously won 2020 Small Business of the Year from Callaway Chamber of Commerce.
"It's been cool to be apart of the downtown area and see people be really responsive and receptive to the shop atmosphere," she said.
For the holiday's, the most popular flavor of gourmet popcorn people stop in to get is vanilla peppermint, Bartlett said.
Bartlett said she is thankful that the Missouri Women's Business Center does events such as the Women Who Own It Awards.
GoPo Gourmet Popcorn is open 7 days a week, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
