North Callaway High School graduating senior Amber Jenkins said the class of 2022’s time within the district has made them a family.

The district graduated 78 students Thursday night during its annual graduating ceremony.

Jenkins, who was selected as the senior speaker for graduation, started out by congratulating her fellow students on reaching this milestone.

“We’ve made it through the fights, breakups and even through senioritis,” she said. “I will always remember the stadium lights on a beautiful Friday night where the whole crowd roaring, the nights we won back the Callaway Cup after waiting a whole year and waiting for the clock to count down to zero just so to go run out on the field and cheer in victory, the nights where even when we lost we still supported our team because green and black runs through our veins.”

Each student in the class, she said, will go on to be successful in the path they choose. They will remain in each other’s hearts as they go out into the larger world.

“I believe that North Callaway has not only made us acquaintances but a family,” Jenkins said. “I truly hope we go on to be magnificent in whatever path we choose. I hope each of us will succeed and be happy in life. When we reunite in 5 to 10 years … I hope to see each and every one of you healthy and successful.”
