South Callaway recognizes employees, retirees

MOKANE -- The South Callaway R-2 Board of Education honored 20 employees who have achieved milestone years of service to the district and nine who will retire at the end of the 2021-22 school year.

The board honored custodian Sandy Farley, middle school teacher Tim Rickerson, food service worker Susan Russell, early childhood teacher Kendra Slagle and custodian Richard Stieferman for 10 years with the district.

For 15 years of service, the board recognized transportation worker Michelle Alford, middle school teacher Larissa Davis, high school counselor Lindsey Even, elementary school teacher Kathy Meers Tim Kucera, food service worker Kathy Meers, bus driver James Meyers, elementary school teacher Ashley Phillips, elementary school secretary Ann Rickerson and food service worker Inez Stanberry.

The board honored early childhood teacher Vickie Bartley and elementary school teacher Andrea Beers for 20 years of service.

For 25 years of service, the board recognized high school teacher Chris Gray and early childhood teacher Tracy Peaks.

Elementary School teacer Anita Dunnavant was recognized for 30 years of service.

Middle School Secretary Linda Mealy was honored for a record-breaking 40 years of service with the district.

The board also recognized retiring employees.

Randy Bailey is retiring after 13 years of service to the district; Mrs. Shelly Byrne after 18 years of service; Sylvia Horstman after 27 years of service; Carolyn Leeper after nine years of service; Doris O'Neal after three years of service; Inez Stanberry after 15 years of service; Richard Stieferman after 10 years of service and Linda Mealy after 40 years of service.

Superintendent Kevin Hillman is also retiring, after nine years with the South Callaway school district and 21 years as a Missouri educator. He will leave the position in June.
