North Callaway’s Reinhard, Rohrbach going to sectionals

Brendan Reinhard and Caleb Rohrbach have stood out in the field for North Callaway this season.

Each of the North Callaway juniors track and field seasons will continue after qualifying for sectionals. Reinhard finished third in the high jump and Rohrbach threw to a third-place finish in the shot put Saturday in the Class 3 District 4 meet at Montgomery County. The pair will head back to Montgomery County on Saturday for the Class 3 Sectional 2 meet.

Reinhard reached a height of 1.88 meters in the high jump to finish just ahead of Bowling Green’s Jace Eskew. Reinhard just fell short of another Bobcat in Marcus Starks, who had a mark of 1.9 meters, while Montgomery County’s Tyler Erwin won the event with a height of 1.92 meters.

Rohrbach’s shot put throw traveled 13.39 meters to finish ahead of Palmyra’s Jose Juarez’s 13.07 meters. Tyler Hilgedick, of Southern Boone, won the event with a mark of 15.38 meters, which beat teammate Jonah Sapp’s 13.56 meters.

Sophomore Isiah Craighead came close to sectionals in the javelin by finishing fifth with a throw of 41.42 meters. Centralia’s Grant Erisman took the fourth and final qualifying spot with a mark of 43.76 meters. Bowling Green’s Dylan Dalton won with a throw of 48.96 meters.

Sophomore Tristan Young finished fifth in the pole vault with a height of 3.15 meters, falling short of the fourth-place 3.30 meters set by Bowling Green’s Matthew Jennings. Macon’s Caelan Harland won with a mark of 4.42 meters.

On the girls side, junior Jalyn Leible missed sectionals in the triple jump after finishing fifth with a distance of 10.12 meters. Macon’s Brooke Weimer took the fourth spot with a mark of 10.18 meters, and her teammate Kalesha Edwards won the event after going 10.43 meters.

In the team standings, the boys finished 10th out of 12 teams with 25 points and the girls took 11th out of 12 teams with nine points. Bowling Green won the boys title with 133 points, and Centralia won the girls title with 124.5 points.
