Fulton City Council to consider water tank replacement

The Fulton City Council will consider a bid to test, examine and evaluate two city water tanks at Tuesday's meeting.

The bid, from B&N Inspections out of St. Louis, is focused on a 500,000 gallon pedestal tank and a 1 MG ground storage tank.

According to the bid, the company will prepare and plan the replacement or rehabilitation of the two tanks. It will also provide daily inspection reports.

One particular area of focus is to fix the coating of each tank -- which have reported lead in it.

The general idea of the project is to overcoat or remove the exterior coating and replace the interior coating so as to remove the lead.

The resolution to accept the bid says the cost will not exceed $75,000.

Unfinished business

The Council will hear updates on the smart grid system and Legends Rec-Plex.

New business

Garnett Garrett, president of the Callaway Cruisers Car Club, will request road closures at Ravine Street between First and Second streets for June 4 and Fifth Street from Court to Nichols streets for Aug. 6.

Both closure requests are for 3-8 p.m. and for the purpose of car shows.

Resolutions

The Council will consider:

• Authorizing the mayor to apply for the Local Violent Crime Prevention grant issues through the Missouri Department of Public Safety.

• Approving the destruction of city records that have met the state's retention requirements.

• Authorizing the mayor to sign an addendum to the Pole Attachment License Agreement with Callabyte Technologies LLC.

• Authorize the mayor to sign a contract with Fletcher-Reinhardt Company, of Bridgeton, for substation transformer testing. The cost will not exceed $59,117.

The City Council will meet at City Hall, 18 E. Fourth St., at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The meeting will also be live streamed on the city's website, fultonmo.org.
