Missouri Gov. Mike Parson is scheduled to hold a news conference at 3 p.m. today outside his Capitol office to announce his choice for appointment to head the state treasurer's office.

The appointee would replace Scott Fitzpatrick, who was elected last month as state auditor beginning in the new year.

Last month, Parson selected Andrew Bailey as his appointee to the state attorney general's position, replacing Eric Schmitt who was elected in November to the U.S Senate.

The governor's office reports it will live stream this afternoon's press conference on its Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/GovMikeParson.
