Ella Aguiar of Windsor signed with William Woods softball as a catcher, announced William Woods softball coach Tracy Gastineau.

"We are so happy to welcome Ella to our program and university," Gastineau stated in a press release. "She is a catcher with great framing skills and a lefty hitter with good placement and pop in her bat. Ella's family has a previous connection, as her mom played softball here. We feel Ella will be a great fit in our program and university and love (it) when someone with family ties comes back!"

Aguiar was a three-year varsity member of the Windsor Wizards' softball team. In her final season with the Wizards, she led her team to regional championships in 2022, finishing the season 21-6 with a top-eight finish in the state.

Throughout her stellar four-year career, she was named academic all-state in 2021 and '22, along with receiving the Golden Glove Award and S.T.A.R. Award in 2020.

Aguiar, the daughter of Tara and Brian, intends to major in elementary education while at Woods.
