Fulton to demolish properties through state grant program

Fulton was recently awarded $200,000 from a statewide grant program.

The Community Development Block Grant Program provides more than $17 million to 40 communities across Missouri. This money is to be used for improvement projects.

The $200,000 received by Fulton will be used for the demolition of properties in the city. 43 properties will be demolished for violating the city's dangerous building ordinance.

Other nearby communities also received money from CDBG.

• Cole County received $500,000, which will be used for drainage and storm sewer improvements.

• Tipton received $435,000, which will be used to make street repairs and improvements.

• Eldon received $455,678, which will be used to make street imporvements to fix potholes, gravel roads and areas with missing asphalt.
