The Callaway County Mutton Trail continues onward with the Mokane World's Fair.

The Mutton Trail is a series of events during the summer that are based around mutton. The series of events kicked off at the Fulton Street Fair at the end of June. This fair featured live music, a car show, a fun run and a carnival.

The Mokane World's Fair is the next stop for the Mutton Trail. This year's fair is set for Labor Day weekend (Sept. 2-4) at Mokane Lions Club Park.

The World's Fair has been an annual event since 1950. The fair this year will feature various BBQ mutton dishes. There will also be a demolition derby, tractor pulls, a carnival and live music.

The World's Fair promises fun for visitors of all ages and is hosted by the Mokane Lions Club, organizers said.

The club has held work days to prepare the park for the event. Lions Club members and community members were invited to help.

Another work day at the park will be held Saturday; it will begin at 9 a.m. and run until 2 p.m.

The Lions Club is requesting help Sept. 2 to set up and prepare the kitchen. Work will begin at 9 a.m.

Mutton-related activities continue at the next stop of the Mutton Trail. Tebbetts Picnic and Muttonfest will take place Sept. 23-25.
