Holts Summit is asking for feedback related to a plan by CAMPO.

The organization, the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, is the metropolitan planning organization for Jefferson City and the surrounding area.

The Capital Area Active Transportation Plan seeks to improve the travel network for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as add new additions to these networks.

CAMPO includes more areas than just Jefferson City. Some rural areas and unincorporated communities in Cole and Callaway counties are included in CAMPO as well. Holts Summit is included in the organization's jurisdiction, as are St. Martins, Taos and Wardsville.

The new plan seeks public engagement and stakeholder input to improve the plan to the needs of the communities. The plan would combine multiple active plans from local communities, such as the Holts Summit's Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Transit Plan from 2014, and unite them under one plan.

A survey is available online as a place for citizens affected by CAMPO to offer feedback. The City of Holts Summit requested citizens to fill out the survey on their Facebook page. The survey asks questions about how citizens use bicycles or whether they walk to work. The survey can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CAATPsurvey1.

A public meeting will also be held as a platform for feedback. A meeting in Holts Summit is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Municipal Center.

Another public meeting will be held in Jefferson City on Sept. 15 at City Hall. One meeting time will be 4-5:30 p.m. The other session will be 6-7:30 p.m.
