Second Street, bridge improvements continue

Updates on Second Street, including new gutters and sidewalks, and new streetlights are continuing, the Fulton City Council was told Tuesday.

City engineer Kyle Bruemmer said work has been progressing this week. He said the work includes replacement of gutters and sidewalks, laying new utility lines, upgrading the stormwater system and installing new streetlights.

The concrete work for the sidewalks and gutters is being done by Ecton Construction of Montgomery City.

Work on the Second Street bridge is awaiting a grant, council members were told. Once the grant is awarded, work could start in early September and continue into 2023.

"It's a process," Bruemmer said.
