High school baseball: Mexico scores 6 in 3rd to beat Fulton

MEXICO - The Mexico Bulldogs scored six runs in the third inning Thursday in their way to an 8-3 victory against the Fulton Hornets in a North Central Missouri Conference matchup.

The Hornets scored first on Owen Uhls' RBI single to left field in the second inning.

Fulton added to its lead in the third when Grant Derenzy scored from second base on a passed ball.

Mexico then plated six runs in the bottom half, including a bases-clearing triple from Tyler Prince.

Allen Walker added an RBI single in the sixth inning for Fulton (2-8, 0-4 NCMC).

Dustin Hagens recorded two hits for the Hornets, including a double in the sixth.

Mexico improved to 5-5 overall and 3-2 in the NCMC with the win.

Fulton will host Hannibal at 5 p.m. today for a conference contest.
