College women's basketball: Westminster 88, Eureka (Ill.) 76

The host Lady Blue Jays rallied for their second straight victory by outscoring the Lady Red Devils 30-12 in the fourth quarter of Saturday's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win.

Westminster College (8-11, 7-5 SLIAC) - which swept the season series with Eureka College - led 25-20 after the first quarter. The Lady Red Devils, though, outscored the Lady Blue Jays 26-18 in the second quarter and went into halftime with a 46-43 edge.

Eureka also outscored Westminster 18-15 in the third quarter to go up 64-58, setting the stage for the Lady Blue Jays' furious comeback.

Junior guard Kallee Dowler delivered 25 points to spark four players in double figures for Westminster, which shot only 37 percent (26-of-70) from the field.

Senior forward Mikalyn Callahan and sophomore guard Abbie Reece tallied 16 points apiece for the Lady Blue Jays. Senior guard Rei Imamura chipped in with 11 points.

Reece finished off a double-double by pulling down a game-high 14 rebounds to help lift Westminster to a 44-32 advantage on the boards.

Olivia Falls erupted for a game-high 30 points to lead three players in double figures for Eureka (11-8, 7-5), which shot just 38 percent (22-of-58) as a team. Ja'Keesha Hawkins tallied 20 points and Ashley Harfst added 14.

The Lady Blue Jays travel to Principia (Ill.) College for a SLIAC game at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Westminster demolished Principia 100-59 on Jan. 4 in Fulton.
