Auxvasse man charged

On March 16, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Paul Moore, 49, of Auxvasse, with two counts first-degree burglary and two counts of fourth-degree assault.

Moore was arrested by Callaway County Sheriff's Office deputies at 2:01 p.m. March 15 in the 200 block of Mill Street in Auxvasse. Moore remains incarcerated in the Callaway County Jail pending a bond of $30,000.

The aforementioned charges are the result of investigations conducted by the Callaway County Sheriff's Office and the Auxvasse Police Department. Both investigations involved the unlawful entrance into Auxvasse area residences and subsequent assaults of residents within.

Callaway County Sheriff's deputies investigated a burglary offense March 14 in the 5000 block of County Road 262. On March 9, the Auxvasse Police Department investigated a burglary offense in the 100 block of East Harrison Street in Auxvasse. During both investigations, Moore was identified as the suspect.
