Lady Blue Jays wrap up SLIAC regular-season volleyball title

Westminster will host conference tournament Saturday

The Westminster College Lady Blue Jays volleyball team clinched the SLIAC regular-season title with a 21-25, 25-20, 25-14 and 25-15 home victory over Webster University on Wednesday night.

With the win, Westminster (21-10, 17-2 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) will now host the conference postseason tournament Saturday. The Lady Blue Jays have won two straight and seven of their last eight.

Webster fell to 17-14 overall and 15-4 in the SLIAC.

Sophomore outside hitter Ashley Kistaitis tallied a double-double with 15 kills and 21 digs to spark Westminster on Wednesday night. Sophomore setter Teresa Becker also had a double-double with 42 assists and 19 digs.

Freshman middle blocker Sarah Rivers chipped in with 13 kills and senior outside hitter Hannah Marshall logged 11 for the Lady Blue Jays. Junior libero Bridget Ringwald equalled Kistaitis with 21 digs.
