Lace your shoes and get in line. Look out kids, it's kickball time!

Fulton's Parks and Recreation's youth kickball leagues begin at 5:30 p.m. today at the Seaman Sports Complex.

Parks and Rec. Assistant Director Sharlene McArtor said the youth league lets boys and girls from kindergarten through eighth grade get some fresh air and work up a sweat.

"The teams are co-ed," she said. "We have three teams in the kindergarten-fourth grade league, and four teams in the fifth-eighth grade league."

McArtor said the teams have been practicing hard.

"They have had a couple weeks of practice," she said. "This is an activity that everyone can play and the kids really enjoy it."

Unlike other sports that can get fans and participants alike riled up, McArtor said kickball stays pretty relaxed.

"Everyone is definitely there just to have a good time," she said. "It's very laid back."

In the case of bad weather or other circumstances, cancellations and game changes are posted on the Fulton city website. Game schedules and team standings will be posted there as well.
