Columbia College blanks Lady Owls soccer team

COLUMBIA - The William Woods University Lady Owls soccer team was outshot by a decisive 22-2 margin, including 9-1 in shots on goal, in Thursday night's 2-0 American Midwest Conference loss to the Columbia College Lady Cougars.

The loss was the second straight for William Woods University (1-4-1, 0-2 AMC). Tiffany Weaver scored two goals for Columbia College (5-1, 2-0), while Katelyn Palmer, Laurie Frew and Molly Burke each had one. The Lady Cougars also possessed an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Senior goalkeeper Ashley Parisi posted four saves in being tagged with the loss for the Lady Owls.

William Woods travels to Southwestern Christian (Okla.) University for a non-conference match at 2 p.m. Saturday.
