FPD makes pair of arrests for active warrants

Fulton police made two arrests for active warrants Thursday and Friday.

Fulton police were patrolling near Ninth and Brown Streets Friday morning and received information that a Fulton resident with active arrest warrants, Ricky Coffelt, 48, would be arriving in that area. Officers were able to stop the vehicle with Coffelt in the back seat.

Officers took Coffelt into custody for a felony warrant for resisting officers and traffic violation warrant. Coffelt was transported to the Callaway County Jail with his bond set at $21,000.

Peryl Watts, 31, of Jefferson City, came to the Fulton Police Department Thursday to ask why officers were looking for him. Watts had an active federal parole violation arrest warrant for the original charge of a weapons offense.

He was taken into custody for the U.S. Marshals and was transferred to the Callaway County Jail with no bond.
