William Woods drops five-set, AMC home game to Lindenwood-Belleville

Junior outside hitter Emily Becker posted a double-double, as did freshman setter Brittney Engelbrecht as the Lady Owls dropped their first American Midwest Conference match of the season to the Lady Lynx on Thursday night at Anderson Arena.

William Woods University (13-10, 4-1 AMC) bowed 25-19, 19-25, 25-23, 26-28 and 15-11.

Becker put away a game-high 17 kills, chipped in 11 digs and led with 2 1/2 blocks. Engelbrecht logged a game-high 29 assists and added 14 digs.

Senior defensive specialist Abbie O'Mara topped the Lady Owls with 26 digs and junior defensive specialist McKenna Hisel posted 10. Senior outside hitter Kristen Bauer notched eight kills.

William Woods hosts AMC foe Stephens College at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
