Craft Bazaar to help cash-strapped CCHS

A fall craft bazaar held Oct. 13 at the Fulton VFW will benefit the Callaway County Humane Society.

The bazaar will run 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and feature 30 unique vendor booths, ranging from direct sales from retailers such as Avon and Pampered Chef, as well as independent local jewelers, scrapbookers and other craft makers.

"We will have both handmade crafting jewelry and direct sell - when I say that, I mean things like Origami Owl, Just Jewelry and things like that," said event organizer Angel Blankenship. "And then as far as unique crafters go, we have ones that make their own homemade crafts, like candles, soap, jewelry, crochet items and bows and tutus... so definitely there's a wide variety."

There will also be chili and chili dogs, homemade soups, salad, bread and drinks. Adult meal tickets are $7 and children 12 and under can partake for $4. Concessions will also be available for an additional charge.

Blankenship said this year was the first time that CCHS planned such an event, and that it differed from previous flea and craft market fundraisers that they had put on in the past.
