Don't try to leave New Bloomfield, they will run you through MSHSAA and treat you like a criminal. It's ok to film a girls locker room, but don't dare try to leave. As far as selling your home--ha right, who wants to buy a house in the New Bloomfield School district. NTReader, you don't know how bad a district is until your kids get in the system, then it is too late. If you kiss the right butt, you are in, if you don't it is hell to pay (even with the teachers and school board).

I was well pleased with the response and compassion we received from the Callaway County deputy when he responded to our home invasion. Keep up the good work.

If you are in favor of open enrollment, contact Jane Cunningham whom I spoke with during our situation. She is pushing for open enrollment. She is a Representative in the Missouri House of Representatives.

You will find out there is a lot of favoritism in this school system. I am a New Bloomfield graduate unfortunately. If you are going to switch schools, do it before your son is a Freshman.

New Bloomfield blocked my son from playing baseball for one year at Southern Boone. Your tax dollar was spent for the Superintendent (Parnell) baseball coach (Center) Principal (Trammell) and Athletic Director (Randle) to come to a meeting at MSHSAA and a meeting at the Lake of the Ozarks (during school time) to fight to block my child from playing baseball at Southern Boone. New Bloomfield was that angry that we switched schools. Remember the filming of the locker room and nothing was done? Our family reached a point where we had enough. Certain kids were getting by with everything they wanted to do, even bullying, while others had to walk a thin line and the school board was made aware of what was going on and chose to do nothing. Of coarse, 2 of the kids were relatives of a board member, image that!!

Money is being spent on baseball because a board member wants her kids to have baseball scholarships. My son received a baseball scholarship and I didn't have to go around begging for one. New Bloomfield needs to concentrate on academics and not on a sports program that is set up to benefit a few. My son realized that an education was going to get him farther in life than baseball, so he transferred colleges to get a better program for his major. We need to elect better school board members if we want success.

We live 5 miles from New Bloomfield and 9 miles from Ashland, My husband and I both work in Columbia. We were unfortunately in the New Bloomfield School district which was not meeting our expectations for academic success. We transferred our kids to Southern Boone and New Bloomfield threw a fit. If they want people to stay in the district, then they need to improve their school system. Southern Boone is an excellent school and what parent does not want the best for their children.
