Nuclear facility’s director of nuclear projects looks back at some milestones in the plant’s 30 years in Callaway
Thirty years ago today, Dec. 19, the Callaway Energy Center was declared fully operational and started contributing power to Ameren Missouri’s grid. John Patterson, director of nuclear projects at the Callaway Energy Center, has worked with the plant for 34 years. He told the Fulton Sun major milestones he has seen in his time at the plant.
School board to prioritize facility repairs wish list

School Board discusses gun legislation
The South Callaway R-II Board of Education unanimously approved a new facility rental agreement for the district at the its December meeting Wednesday night.
Missouri Coalition for the Environment (MCE) filed a petition on Dec. 8 to intervene in the license renewal of Ameren Missouri’s Callaway Energy Center, according to MCE. The nuclear facility is expecting a decision from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) on its application for a license renewal this month.
