Board approves selling of bonds, awards bid for HVAC repairs
New Bloomfield residents will soon see work start on facility projects funded through the $2 million no-tax increase bond issue, which voters passed in April. The New Bloomfield R-III Board of Education awarded a bid for the HVAC project to Clearview Enterprises LLC, a company which has done work in the Jefferson City and Columbia school districts previously. Additionally, the district’s financial adviser, L.J. Hart and Co., will begin to solicit investors for the bonds.
South Callaway R-III schools is making an effort to improve professional development in the district. The school board recently approved a 5-year professional development plan. And, coaches will soon have a professional development day as well.

4-year-old girl adjusts at home after riding lawn mower accident, family appreciative of others’ support
After about a week at home, Faith Rowell will return to the hospital Monday for a fourth surgery. She ran outside at a family member’s home on May 12 and was accidentally run over by a riding lawn mower. Her father described the significant amount of support Faith has received from the community, family, friends and strangers as a much needed distraction for their family.

The New Bloomfield R-III School Board approved an architectural contract with Porter, Berendzen & Associates, out of Columbia, at its regular meeting Thursday. The architecture firm will work with the district as it completes projects outlined in its recently approved bond issue.
