Jeanne Martin (left), of Jefferson City and originally from Fulton, and her aunt Marilyn Pogue look at a quilt inside the United Church of Christ on Saturday during the church’s annual quilt show and ice cream social. The church celebrated its 125th year and many who attended the church or have memories there attended the event. Martin’s parents were married inside the church and her Grandma Frieda played the organ during services. Pogue’s great grandfather, whose last name she said was Wichmann, helped build the church and later dug out the basement. According to the Kingdom of Callaway Historical Society, a Peter Wichmann was included as a charter member when the church was first established in the summer of 1889.
