Fulton emergency responders investigated an accident Wednesday where a piece of metal apparently bounced off of the bed of a flat bed truck and broke through Karen Doerhoff of Fulton's windshield, seriously injuring her. Doerhoff was flown by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia.

A Fulton woman was air-lifted to University Hospital in Columbia Wednesday following an accident where a metal object fell off of a truck and crashed through her windshield, the Fulton Police Department said.
