Japanese beetles feeding on a leaf. The insect is about one-third of an inch long. Japanese beetles appeared about three weeks early this year in Callaway County.

Most people aren’t aware that Japanese beetles are now in Callaway County but they are all around us, says James Jarman, agronomy specialist at the Callaway County MU Extension Center.
