Workmen with the Sam Gaines Construction Co. of New Bloomfield are building a 120-foot bridge two miles east of New Bloomfield along County Road 436. The firm has a $315,129 contract with the Callaway County Road and Bridge Department to build the bridge over Hillers Creek.

Two new replacement bridges are under construction this summer by the Callaway County Road and Bridge Department. One new bridge is six miles east of Auxvasse on County Road 1011 and the other is two miles east of New Bloomfield on County Road 436.
