Leah Michelle Hogan, 32, of Fulton, Mo., went to be in the arms of her heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, as the result of injuries she sustained in a traffic accident near her home in Edgewater, Fla. Leah was born August 13, 1981, in Fulton, Mo., the daughter of Steven Paul Hogan and Stephanie LeDoux. Leah grew up in Fulton, Mo. and attended South Callaway R-II Schools in Mokane, Mo., where she was active in softball, cheerleading, and played saxophone in the school band. She graduated from South Callaway R-II High School. Leah was a talented artist and frequently used her gifts to bring joy to those she knew. She was a loving daughter, granddaughter, sister and aunt, with a kind and generous spirit towards others and a special love for animals. Her carefree laughter and positive spirit brought joy to all who knew her. She shared a love of music and a powerful singing voice with her family. In recent years, Leah made her home in Edgewater, Fla., where she enjoyed frequent visits to the beach and abundant sunshine. She is survived and missed by her father, Steve Hogan, and his wife Karen Hogan of Columbia, Mo.; her mother, Stephanie LeDoux, and her husband, Byron Gross of Edgewater, Fla.; three brothers: Matt Hogan of Kansas City, Mo., Joshua Staats of Mokane, Mo., and Jared Hogan of St. Louis, Mo.; her beloved grandmother, Bernell Hogan of Fulton, Mo.; four nephews: Nicholas and Tommy Staats of Mokane, Mo., Milo Stewart and Van Hogan of St. Louis, Mo.; and her best friend, Wayne Myhill of Edgewater, Fla. Leah is also cherished by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, step-siblings and many dear friends. Leah was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, George and Gertrude LeDoux and her paternal grandfather, Arthur Hogan Sr. A celebration of Leah's life will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Fulton, Mo., with a visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the church foyer.
