Kenneth Means, 82, of Fulton, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. He was born September 15, 1931, in Fulton, the son of the late James Robert Means and the late Iona Bertha (Rapps) Means. On July 19, 1951, Kenneth was united in marriage to Anita Jean (Attebery) Means. She survives at the Arbors in Jefferson City. Kenneth proudly served his country in both the United States Army and Air Force. He worked at Danuser Machine Company while maintaining the family farm. He was a member of Central Christian Church. He pastored his family to respect the love of the land and the pleasures of country living. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Anita; son, David Means of Fulton; daughters, Deborah Mummert (Philip) of Jefferson City, and Loretta Huber of Fulton; sister, Margaret Davis (Don) of Mexico, Mo.; grandchildren, Aaron, Megan, Adam, Mallory, Mackenzie, Geoffrey, and Alec; and four great-grandchildren. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe Lee, Louis, Donald, and Lester Means; and sister, Cora Farmer. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013. at Maupin Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Nigus officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Central Christian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Kenneth's name to Central Christian Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, Mo. 65251.
