She was born October 2, 1913, in Fulton, the daughter of Robert Scott Whyte and Vina Logan Brown Whyte. McLamb was the associate pastor at Paseo Baptist Church and Alfreida worked as the church secretary. In the mid 60's, the Lord called Rev. McLamb to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Sioux City, Iowa and Alfreida became the first lady of that congregation. After Rev. McLamb passed in 1972, Alfreida returned to Fulton and became quite active in church functions and worked on the Anniversary Committee for years, attended Baptist conventions and Martin Luther King Day celebrations.
