Eugene Lee

September 10, 1933 - January 3, 2012

Eugene Lee, 78, of Fulton, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at the VA Hospital in Columbia. He was born in McCredie, on September 10, 1933, the son of the late Irvin Thomas Lee and Viola (Lawson) Lee. He was united in marriage to Juanita (Cason) Lee from January 24, 1959 until 2006. Juanita survives his passing. Eugene was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Fulton. He was a member of the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. Eugene owned his own landscaping business for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with friends and family. Eugene will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons, Robert Eugene Lee and partner Crystal Wright of Columbia, and Leslie Wayne Lee and wife Sherry of Fulton; eight grandchildren, Rayshal Wright, Toddra Wright, Robert E. Lee, III, Marrisa Gatewood, Alesa Lee, Jeremy Salmons, Steven Meuth, and Michael Watson; five great- grandchildren; two brothers, Garney Lee of Fulton and Ronnie Lee of Fulton; five sisters, Lola M. Vaughn of Fulton, Betty L. Lee of Fulton, Bonnie J. Morgan of Columbia, Willa D. Day of Springfield, Ill., and Carolyn Lee of Springfield, Ill.; three brothers-in-law, Samuel Holt of Fulton, Harold Edwards of Kansas City, and Lavore Richmond of Fulton; two sisters-in-law, Judy Lee of Jefferson City and Gertrude Lee of Springfield, Ill.; special friend, Peggy Kemp; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by one son, Michael Bruce Lee; one daughter, Fayette Gene Lee; three brothers, James Lee, William "Junior" Lee, and R.D. Lee; and four sisters, Ethel Holt, Bernice Thompson, Margaret Cave, and Leola Davis. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Calvary Baptist Church in Fulton with Reverend William Butler officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at Calvary Baptist Church. Interment will be held at Southside Cemetery.
