Alleen Kritzer, 88, of Fulton, died Sunday evening, February 19, 2012, at Fulton Manor Care Center where she had resided for 2 1/2 years. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Alleen was born April 19, 1923, in Fulton to the late Roy and Eura "Sportie" Anthony. On January 17, 1946, she married Edward "Dutch" Kritzer who preceded her in death on October 5, 2006. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Kritzer of St. Louis, twin children, Diana Kritzer of Millersburg and Donald "Doc" Kritzer and wife Linda of Fulton. Grandchildren include Travis Crump of Columbia, Kimberly Kritzer of Millersburg, Darren Kritzer of Wilmington, N.C., and Captain Tammy Kritzer of Okinawa, Japan. Additional survivors include a special cousin, Bill Anthony and wife, Carol, of Olathe, Kansas, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Mae Harlan. Prior to her marriage, Alleen worked as an aircraft riveter in St. Louis while Dutch was serving overseas in World War II. Soon after his return, they were married. During their 60 years of marriage, she was a homemaker and was well known for her creative cakes and homemade rolls. As an active participant in her children's lives, she was a Brownie leader, Cub Scout leader, and room mother and hosted amazing birthday parties and taffy pulls. Alleen also volunteered as a Pink Lady at the original Callaway Hospital. She enjoyed her monthly pinochle card club of which she was a member for over 50 years. Many people remember Alleen working beside Dutch in his refrigeration and air conditioning business. She had fun wherever she went. Her sweet smile and contagious laugh will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. She was a life-long member of the First Presbyterian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. In addition, she was an active member of Refrigeration Service Engineers Society Auxiliary and the Kingdom Belles Red Hat Society. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Interment will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22 at the funeral home.
